Guldager is one of the oldest water treatment companies in Europe with 70 employees. The engineer Alfred Guldager invented the Guldager electrolytic protection system in 1923. Since then, more than 50.000 systems have been installed. The basic field of activity for the Guldager Group is still to protect against corrosion and scale.
The business area of Guldager is corrosion protection including electrolytic water treatment of domestic water piping systems, electrolytic water treatment for cooling towers, central heating systems and other industrial purposes, catholic protection of swimming pool filters and anti-fouling. The business area also include scale and lime stone protection (CO2 dosing and AlCO2) and water softening and reverse osmosis in hotels, restaurants and catering, laundries, industry and other areas where softening and membrane filtration is required. Guldager exports to all European Countries, Middle East and Asia. The quality control includes certification according to ISO 9001 in course of preparation. The accoumt figure in 1998 was 4.658 (Euro 1,000 gross profit).
Guldager products such as Katolysis, Unicat and Katorack are used for corrosion protection of domestic water and CatoCool for corrosion protection of cooling systems. In addition, Guldager are manufacturer of products for scale prevention and water treatment techniques to counteract lime and salt - catering industry, industrial applications and car-wash facilities end products for drilling platforms, filters in swimming baths and sprinkler systems. Guldager will be the SME Co-ordinator of the proposed Co-operative Research project. The Technical manager Ivan Lilleng and the chief engineer Claus Fabricius will be responsible for Guldagers contribution to the project. Besides the role as co-ordinator Guldager will be responsible for the development of equipment for on site electrochemically generated chlorine dioxide for control of Legionella.
